Bienvenido. Welcome to Good Samaritan Community Services's new Web Site. Good Samaritan Community Services, formerly the Good Samaritan Center, is a dynamic, multi-service neighborhood center addressing the needs of individuals and families living in poverty on the near west side of San Antonio.
Our comprehensive programs include our Nationally Accredited Childcare program, after-school Youth Enrichment and College Preparation programs, GED education and employment for over 1,000 high school drop-outs and a Senior Activity Center. During the past few years, we have renovated our five-acre campus and added the new Senior Center, which serves more than 800 adults each year.
Good Samaritan Community Services currently assists more than 3,000 individuals annually with a budget of $3.4 million. In ten years, our goal is to open five new social service centers to help over 25,000 people a year throughout the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas with a budget of $17 million. We can only achieve this level of growth with the continued support of our donors, churches and community. We welcome your help in the following ways.
Volunteer: Good Samaritan Community Services relies on volunteers to help fulfill our mission of changing the lives of those in need. We have both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities for all ages, including our All Saints’ Carnival, Christmas Dinner & Toy Drive, Pack-the-Campers and Back-to-School Supply Drive.
