Celebrate the Christmas season with families in San Antonio who are impacted by poverty, by providing a festive dinner for a family of four. Fill a grocery bag with nonperishable foods on the list provided, then personalize it by adding an item that makes Christmas special to you - nuts, an ornament, a candle or a Christmas storybook. Chicken and a Christmas blessing will be added to the bags just before they are given to the families of participants in our programs, including 175 families who are Katrina survivors. Filled bags should be returned to Good Samaritan Community Services December 18 or 19th. Chicken and a Christmas Blessing will be added to each bag before they are distributed.
The families of youth in our programs in the Rio Grande Valley are being supported by a similar program with food collected through the Episcopal Churches in Hidalgo and Willacy Counties.
